Computer OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Avast Program Version: 8.0.1500
Hello,
I’ve been using Avast for a while now and I was trying to update the program to the latest version (Version: 9.0.1500). However, the when I try to update the program, it is always stuck on “Initializing, please wait...” and doesn’t show any progression. So, I tried restarting my computer and retrying, but that didn’t work. So, I tried to uninstall and reinstall it again, but I can’t uninstall it either.
I keep getting an error message saying:
“The exception Integer division by zero. (0xc0000094) occurred in the application at location 0x01088724”
Is there anybody on here who can lend me a hand on this? The program and the virus definitions won’t update and when I try to uninstall Avast, I keep getting this error.
I’m using the avast free version.
My OS is 64 bit and I’m assuming “SP” means service pack, so service pack 1.
I don’t have any other security programs installed and I used Norton for a brief time before getting avast. That was a while ago though.
I’ve had avast for a while now and everything ran smoothly until when I tried to update the program to 2014.
Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
Reboot.
Unfortunately, the dialog for avastclear.exe uses a window that is too large to access the function buttons at the bottom. You cannot resize the window and you must click on it’s top program bar to move the window so it cannot be moved high enough to acess the buttons.
This may not be a problem in 7 or 8 but in XP SP3, safe mode has limited video resolution.
