avast wont update.... ???

hello,
today i downloaded the home avast and when i am trying to update it, it is trying to download some packages(servers.def.vpu) but after 4-5 min it says cannot connect to download91.avast.com…
i have a comodo firewall but it is closed…

having vista…

any ideas?

I am having the same problem also. Hopefully someone can help us out. I am getting the red avast information box that says "An error has occurred while attempting to update! Click here for more information… Information about the current update: Last encountered error: cannot connect to download 611.avast.com.

Are either of you able to do a manual iAVS Update ?
right click the avast ‘a’ icon, select Updating, iAVS Update.

If not - Does it allow avast.setup internet access ?

  • If it does delete the entry for it and do a manual update, this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

Note If this is happening shortly after boot - Comodo config options. Advanced Attack Detection and Prevention. - To get there, open program, click Security", “advanced attack detection and prevention”, and click “configure,” Block all outgoing connections while booting.
