avast won't update

I am so new to avast…so many things to learn and experience. so far so good.

the latest virus definitions were installed. i ran a scan.

then i checked the log view Dec 19,2008 found 3 warnings in log view…
Dec 10th…application: 1960 function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0x20000004, dwRes is 20000004.
Dec 17th…application: 196 function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0x20000004, dwRes is 20000004.

I noticed after I did Avast scan…it did not show the new date in the simple user interface module. so I don’t know if the scan was successful or not. Maybe this changes once system restarts so I did so but nothing changed.

maybe the above warnings are something i need to address. is it something I should be concerned about.
can someone help me

These errors seem more verbose of the logs and nothing more than this. Don’t worry.
I suppose your avast scannings return clean and avast is updating itself correctly :wink:

i think my problem with not seeing avast scan date change is that when i ran it, I had my laptop unplugged and maybe the battery was low so it stopped running.
i have since re charged my battery, ran the scan and all is well.
