I am repairing my grand daughters computer. It had a virus called “FakeAV” on it and after I removed it I cannot get Avast to work. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it still won’t come up when I double click on it.
Any help on this? TIA grandpagary
how did you remove the FakeAV ?
follow this guide and attach (not copy and paste) logs from…Malwarebytes / OTL / aswMBR

I took the HDD out and installed it in another computer and used Avast and Malwarebytes on that computer to clean the HDD. It took 36 hours.
well…follow the guide i posted, then essexboy can see what you did not remove…and if anything is damaged
