Avast wrongly detects a trojan horse in our software product

Hi.

We recently got many reports from our customers that the Avast Virus Scanner reports a Trojan horse in our product TreeSize Professional, which was obviously wrong. We checked at virustotal.com the opinion of other virus scanners, and just one reported that a heuristic rule applied. So obviously the report of Avast AV was wrong.

Since we sold several ten thousand copies of TreeSize Professional and have >1000 trial downloads every day, this additional support cases are a bit annoying. And the damage for our reputation is difficult to estimate but for sure present.

What can we do that Avast will not report our software products as Trojan horses?

can you send us the particular file to virus[at]avast[dot]com in a password protected archive? we can’t catch anything at the file downloaded from your web (after its unpacking, of course)…

According to analyst the fix was in VPS from 13th.
