Avast XP Error

I just stopped using AVG Free after 8 years. I have just installed Avast Free 2016 on a fresh Windows XP SP3 install.
After I entered a few exceptions, it is working very well. Does not slow the boot very much and does not seem to be the burden to the system that my previous Anti Virus had become.

It only gives one error message that concerns me.

Every time it shuts down, the Event Viewer traps an error.

It is the “userenv” (warning).

Any comments on why it does this ?

I have tried it on a second new XP SP3 build, and it does the same thing.

Appreciate any comments on this.

Did you use the AVG removal tool ?
If not, I suggest to remove AVG and avast completely and perform a clean installation of avast.

There was no need to use the Avast cleaner because both were fresh / virgin installs. The was no previous Avast there.

I have solved the problem by using the Microsoft utility UPH Clean.

After several reboots it has stopped the error messages.

Even after uninstalling this utility, the errors are still gone ( not being logged )

Even with fresh installs things can go wrong.
Removing things completely and do a new clean install many times solves the problem.

Anyway, good to hear the problem is solved.
