avast

what should i do when avast found the virus but avast cannot delete the virus… it cannot be removed to the chest either

how do i set it so next time before the window started, a system scan can be performed before the window started up?

What is the full path/filename of the infected file?

Windows in its infinite wisdom protects files in use (even malware), so it is likely that avast! can’t delete or move files in use. So schedule boot-time scan in avast’s menu if you have XP, win2k or NT, otherwise boot into safe mode and run an avast scan. This should ensure that the file isn’t in use and avast should be able to deal with it.

The file name and location that Igor asked for can give us an idea of why it couldn’t be moved or deleted, for the future, deletions isn’t a good first option, send it to the chest, which gives you other options.

By now you should have the answer to your second question in one of the other Two Topics you started asking this question.

hummmm i think there’s another problem… i used boot time scan and there was no virus to be found…

then i used kaspersky anti virus then i found there’s the virus which cannot be deleted

C:\windows\scvhost.exe

C:\windows\system32\systems1.dll

there’s also other ones

You keep saying that viruses can’t be deleted without saying why they can’t be deleted this may help us to help you.

Because these are in system folders (protected by windows) you are going to have to disable system restore and reboot to ensure that any removal action is effective. Win XP-ME - How to disable System Restore

If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode, Ewido anti-spyware If using winXP. or a-Squared free if using win98/ME.

oo got it… it was an adaware ^^" thnx!

Your welcome, glad that you have finally got rid of it and a belated welcome to the forums.

You might want to change your screen name ‘talkingtree’ as you have been very quiet for 9 days ;D ;D
