avast5 2 questions

i have 2 questions about avast 5

1. is enough the virus definition to clean a infected file ,or does it need like v4 the header database (created when the pc is in idle)

2. is there a virus definition history for v5?

1. VRDB is dropped in version 5 as an obsolete technology.
