Before you say run this or that, it’s not possible for me to run any programs. The only thing I’ve found to work so far is explorer, regedit, and msconfig. Every other program fails to execute. I’ve tried downloading the avast installer but that won’t run either.
I’d prefer not to have to reinstall windows but it looks like I’ll have to if there’s no way to manually remove avast from the system

Why do you think avast! corrupted the system? Also, if everything fails to execute, i don’t think you can do much at all. I mean even for manual cleanup you need some sort of tools which won’t run either.
