Hello I actually already changed my Antivirus to AVG months ago. Since the version Avast 8 came out. But I’ve always reinstalled aufter new version which came out for Avast 8.
Well I am not a noob at computers. I’ve used the avast cleaner as well, I always update my Windows (Vista, 7, 8) to the latest updates. Everything works fine but only till I install Avast 8.
Vista 64-bit doesn’t windows doesn’t start anymore (was fixed with the #1489.300 update) But if you don’t do anything ~10 minutes with your computer windows crashes down with a blue screen.
Windows 7 also blue screens
Windows 8 blue screens
This Software works fine only on 32-Bit Windows systems.
“I say it again! I also used the avast cleaner + I downloaded even the avast from this site.”
My questions are, is avast for 64-bit windows made anyway or do you support only 32-bit systems? If you do, why do the other Antivirus programs from other companies work stable on my computers?
I am not addicted in anyway to your software, but I thought I should’ve said that.
avast! works well on all systems from Windows XP through Windows 8.
It works equally well on both 32 and 64 bit computer.
Without knowing which product you actually installed and, more importantly
what other security related programs you may have had installed on your system, it isn’t possible to answer your questions
or comment on your statement.
Hi there. I’m on a W7 64 bit machine, and Avast 8 works great. I’m an average computer user with basic knowledge, maybe a step up from a n00b I installed over 7 and haven’t done anything else with Avast. It just does its job. Sorry you’re having issues with it. There are many knowledgable people in this forum who may be able to help if you provide more details, as bob suggested.
Let me join in by saying that I have installed avast! version 8 on four Windows 7 64bit machines. They all work flawlessly. Your statement that avast! 8 is not stable on 64bit machines is a bit of an over-reach. Many, many people have installed it on their 32bit AND 64bit machines and are not having any problems. Your issues are specific to your machines.
Oh well looks like I have somekind of demon on my computers that bother avast antivirus. ;D Is that what you’re trying to say?
Alright ok maybe I just had a bad luck choosing not the right PCs? I haven’t read anywhere which systems Avast doesn’t support. Is it really my fault? Everything else works just fine I can’t moan! But if I put Avast 8, doesn’t matter if it’s free or pro seems to have the same engine. I get a blue screen. :-X
I will try one day the Avast 9 hope it will work fine then. I’m tired to wait for fixes, how long has it been since avast 8 final came out? :-\
I guess then avast doesn’t works because of some drivers and hardware that avast can not work with. Sorry I’m out! See ya again at Avast 9!
