The standard scan with test archives is stalling out at /var/run/dbus/pid
It isn’t stalling out the scan itself but is just sort of stuck there picking away in this directory.
Don’t have this problem using the qtfprot GUI using similar settings.

Well, I’ll be darn! It is the exact same directory!
Used CTRL-ALT-ESC and then clicked the skull and crossbones over the gui to kill Avast scan.
Thanks for the tip. I didn’t know how to invoke xkill command in SUSE.
Other distros have this command in the start menu (panel).
Well, the problem is that dublin tryed to help me but I didn’t have the file version he asked me to change…
“pid” appears to be just a plain text file.
I added the .txt extension to the attached file.
The only other file in the /var/run/dbus directory is “system_bus_socket”, and it is zero bytes in size.
