Avast's "Internet Mail"/Propel Accelerator

:slight_smile: Hi Alan ( & all other interested persons ) :

  To follow up about "Accelerator(s)" and Avast's "Web
  Shield" & "Internet Mail" Providers, as they pertain to the
  Email "function" ONLY, a phone call to "Tech Support" of
  my ISP "confirmed" the Propel Accelerator they are
  using ( v 5.0.0.1053 ) "performs" similarly to Avast's
 "Internet Mail" Provider. However, there has been a 
  change in Propel's "Email Accelerator" since Feb 06 that
  allows the User to go to the "Advanced" menu and
  UNcheck the "Email Acceleration" Setting .

thanks for the follow up. It’s good to know that Propel users can now make the choice to allow avast to scan their mail.

Do you have the Webshield working with the Propel web proxy?

 I made those 2 "changes" mentioned in the other thread
 and my Web Shield is now "scanning" for the 1st time .
 I wish this info would have been included in the FAQ's
 BEFORE I downloaded Avast the 1st time many months
 ago !? All I saw was about "running another HTTP proxy
( e.g. Proxomitron, WebWasher... ) " and since I had
  WebWasher on my machine, that's all I "focused" on;
  did NOT realize my "web accelerator" was included in
  this !?
