AvastSvc.exe a new memory use topic...

Well, another one guys, yeah.

So let’s begin with a screenshot : http://imgur.com/a/QK2qt

As you can see im using Process Explorer by Sysinternal to monitoring my windows10 and what i can tells you is that Avast keep using more and more and more Ram for nothing each update. And i mean im fine with avast because its free so i won’t complain but come on. 203 mo ? When it was like way less back then. This program is slowly going to the resource hog side.
I don’t mind even the fucking ad pop-up, i mean its free…

Now for the software stuff:

Windows 10 OS @64 bits.
Avast version is 12.3.2280 (build 12.3.3154.6
Component installed are File System shield and Webshield and only that because well… thats the only one you need.

My question is simple, is 203mo for svc.exe the new stantard or can i do something about it ? Please note that im using Process explorer and not the build in shitty windows 10 monitoring stuff, so it could be very cool to use it too if you gonna check how much memory avastSvc.exe use on your PC.
Note that monitoring it with the build-in windows stuff will not show the same result.

You can always create a dump file (right click in Process Explorer) of avastsvc.exe process, upload it somewhere (e.g. our ftp: https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB160) and send me a link.
Thanks

Hello, i’ve send a [AvastSvc.zip] into the /incoming folder of avast FTP. Its a dmp files. Password is virus as asked in the FAQ.

AvastSvc.dmp has 0 bytes – probably it hasn’t been fully generated yet.

For some reason im unable to create a dump file with process explorer, “access denied” even when running it as administrator. I’ll try fix that

Try it through the taskmanager.

ctrl + alt +del > taskmanager > right click the process > create dump file

Ok on it. Thx.

Should be in the incoming folder now, Avastsvc_nunu.zip

Any news ?

sorry, it was corrupted (only 2Mb were uploaded).

arg sorry, will try again

Should be fully uploaded this time …
