First off let me begin by saying this has happened only twice and its very rare.
My other computer with windows XP… when on the login screen a error message appeared that said AvastSvc.exe in its title bar. the message said something about memory couldn’t be read… if you want I can use process explorer to create a minidump of AvastSvc.exe but i wonder what caused AvastSvc to have the error… ???

Are you using the latest 6.0.1367 version?
It happened the first time in a stable version. this time it happened in the beta one i had install i am updating it but I will post the log. Where can the log be located at on winXP?
You can go to the \windows\minidump and send the newest .mdmp files.
There is C:\Windows\Memory.dmp file too.
You will get more info about the BSOD error by downloading and run BlueScreenView.

It wasn’t a blue screen… it was a Error message! I created a dmp file with process explorer. I’m going to Send it over in a Zip folder as Coolmario88cp-minidump.zip
The error was in a message box like the one in the image that is attached.
Not for sure in XP, but think into Documents and Settings avast folder.
Ok I found it now do I copy and paste some of the setup.log (I think that is the log you was talking about) or do i just try to attach it?
Probably it has more than 200 bytes and won’t be allowed to upload.
Post the last 400 lines of it, for instance.

The bigger dump file is truncated, and I don’t see anything strange (like a message box) in the small one - though I may be just blind…
When it happens again i will some how screen shot it with a camera or just write what the message said or I can just remove avast! free and reinstall
