AvastSvc.exe memory footprint huge

Hello,

I’m growing frustrated with Avast, partially due to the large memory footprint AvastSvc.exe is using - on average, 2.5gig. Latest updates and everything, and I’m not sure why it’s happening. I’ve tried doing searches, but failed to find an answer for an updated version (most of them pointed to options and panels that aren’t in the newer UI).

Perform a repair of avast and see if it solves things.

If not, perform a clean installation of avast and check again.

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
