For some reason the network activity for avastSvc is kinda high, i wonder why. Disable all the Agents protection fix (of course) the issue. (im using Files/ web and the shield one).
Also for some reason even if i don’t have the mail agent installed, there is the option in the UI to activate it protection tab.
EDIT: after further more testing, it appear that he does eat bandwidth with for example, a streaming (twitch.tv) tab open.
Considering that the Avast Service ‘AvastSvc.exe’ controls all of the shields and scanning it is going to show activity when scanning is going on.
The likelihood is that the Web Shield will be scanning the content you are viewing and to do that it intercepts calls and filters the content through the web shield.
Disabling everything doesn’t pinpoint which shield is actually active and filtering http/https traffic.
I have many components that I haven’t installed in the UI it shows they aren’t installed and offers the option to install them, what is wrong with that ?
Im not talking about the component, but the main page. [agent de messagerie ON / OFF ] shouldn’t be there at all since i don’t installed the component for mails.
But anyway you’re right it seems that Avast will scan for ever a streaming page like 100% safe and eat bandwidth for absolutely nothing.
I guess it’s time to find another solution, im sick of that kind of stuff every update.
It isn’t as if avast is using the bandwidth, this would otherwise have been associated to your browser, but the web shield intercepts that so it can scan the content.
Have you checked the Components section to see if it is actually uninstalled and not just disabled ?
Also check the Control Panel > Programs & Features > Avast antivirus > Change and ensure it is uninstalled there.
Since I use the Mail Shield I can’t replicate what it is that you are experiencing.
