Avastsvc.exe hogs about 60% of my CPU when I’m downloading from 1fichier and another fast download site or two which I can’t recall now. (1fichier downloads at about 2 mb/s.) Not sure how long this has been happening but I doubt more than several months and it really causes a problem for my CPU.

Are you using the latest version ? Because I’ve noticed much better Avastsvc.exe CPU usage during download.
IMO, this Web Shield version is the best so far.
Yeah. I have most recent version. I’m turning the shields off now when I download.
