Hi

I have two computers both 4mb memory on Windows 7. One runs well, the other can be sluggish. The difference appears to the number of programs in memory and with reference to Avast, I noticed that the sluggish PC has avastsvc loaded in memory while the other doesn’t.
Both seem to operating Avast fine.

So can anyone explain what Avastsvc does and why it is resident on one and not another.

Needed for the web-/mail-shield, so it should be present in both systems if these components are installed.
