avastUI.exe -confused by warning from Avast

I am new to Avast (free version). Today, on start up, a new download was made automatically to my PC, called AvastUI.exe. I imagine the download was instigated by Avast. I have certainly not explicitly requested it. However, I received a warning from Avast also on startup, that this file may be dangerous. I do not understand why Avast is warning me against a file that was (I think) downloaded by them. What should I do?

AvastUI.exe (dated 12 June 2015) is currently running on my PC (Windows XP, 32 bit) and is installed in my Avast directory. Should I execute this new file or delete it? If I execute the new file do I need first to Uninstal the existing avastUI, that is running (it is not listed in Add or remove programs)

  1. AvastUI.exe is part of your Avast installation and shouldn’t need to be downloaded seperatly.
  2. Post a screenshot of the Avast warning.
  3. Test the file at VT (https://www.virustotal.com) and post the link to the result here.
