Hello, I noticed that every time I started my PC, there is huge activity on my disk. I used monitoring tool and found out, that it is avastui.exe causing this activity. It is scanning every item in Firefox cache, which contains thousands and thousands of files, even when Firefox is not running. Why is this happening? I did not set any test after start of computer.
Something you said: “It is scanning every item in Firefox cache, which contains thousands and thousands of files, even when Firefox is not running.”
Ever clear your Firefox cache? If no, then 3 bars upper right>History>Clear recent history, as below.
Note you have options as to what to clear, and you do not have to select all options. Clearing the cache is what you want, to start with. If you have Active Logins running, untick that.
That is not problem. Problem is that UI component of Avast (not antivirus service itself) is scanning some folder every day without user permission.
More details please.
What folder?
e.g. how is this happening and how are you detection this as in.
Are you looking in logs or are you checking the Task Manager.
