Avatars in profile

Hi Forum,

I am a newbie to this forum and a fairly recent user of avast! Internet Security 5.0. How do you post your picture/avatar to your profile. I see only one choice on the profile screen: Modify Profile: Account Related Settings. If I go there I can only change my password and security question. I have seen the following answer"

“From your forum ‘Profile’ button at the top of each page, once open, Forum profile information, I have my own pic, then past the image location and it will be used. Or you can use the ‘I will upload my own picture:’ and browse to the location on your hdd. dimensions ideally should be 100x100.”

I cannot see where the prompt “I have my own pic” is. Where am I going wrong?

Cheers,

Bob

You need to have made 20 posts on the forum to have access to that function along with several other
forum user enhancements.

Welcome to the forum.

You need 20 posts first…

Dear Forum Members,

While I love to engage in newsgroup discussions, I have a pile of things on my to-do list. I was really surprised that when I made my retirement to-do list back in 2005 I thought I would have reduced the number of items on that list list by now. Yes, I have accomplished many of these items, but the list has actually grown in number! If any one has way too much time on their hands you might look at the home page of my website (www.s-i-inc.com) to view some of the things I have been doing. Sailors around the world might be interested in my sailing resume.

I will keep this site in mind as an excellent source of information about malware. As you have already noticed I make my e.mail address (bob@s-i-inc.com) very easy to find. So fighting the bad guys is always a challenge for me. With your help I am sure we will prevail.

Cheers,

Bob

The easiest way to protect your email is not to display it for all to see and bots to harvest and add to spam lists, so I would advise you remove it or obfuscate it so it is less easy for them to harvest.

Or use an image for its display, see attached image, which you can copy.

That’s what i call: ‘Good Service’ …!!! ;D

Well, it’s been 3 or 4 days now and so I’d bet the email has been harvested. :frowning:
