Everytime I startup my computer, I get an message saying I am using an old database.
Autoupdates are on and when I go to update manually it says “Already up to date”
Anyone know if this is a bug? or what?

My friend had a similar problem. I found that his computer clock was out of date.
Try checking your date and time settings by double clicking the time at the bottom right on your screen.
Then adjust it to the correct Date/Time and press OK

If the date gets reset again, it is time to change the cmos battery.

I have an update problem too, there is a message showing 0 out of 0 bytes completed, and is forever trying to conect to the site.
I am using XP home edition with no other antivirus installed. Kindly help me out. I do not know how to check the proxy can you elaborate pls?

Check your firewall settings, it should allow avast.setup access to the internet.
