I must congratulate Avast on the release of Avast Pro 2015 you seemed to have release a product that is completely untested.
Web Shield- Well done you have completely secured my PC from internet threats - Oh sorry, I just realised that you’ve stopped me browsing anything at all and taken out all web browsing in Chrome. Well at least that will stop the nasties getting through. So we’ll turn that one off.
Secure DNS - again an outstanding feature that ignores local host exceptions and also configured internal DNS server overrides - well done I congratulate on breaking a core piece of TCP/IP networking functionality - outstanding. Let’s turn that one off as well.
Oh well at least my renewal is coming up next year…

here we go again ::)
at evry new beta, forum is full of … releas it now please, it is working
when relased it changes to … it does not work, this and that problem, you released it to soon…
I use it for my business and was under no desire to have it installed - the auto-update inflicted it on my main PC and has subsequently wasted 3 hours of my day. All I want A/V to do is work and be reliable - I can live without bells and whistles and dumb features, I just need the basic ones to work.
Sorry that you’re having problems with your particular setup however I was here for the 2014 release and THAT was a disaster. This one however has commanded relatively few complaints.
Now, from what I’m extracting from your post is that you came from a much older version of avast and they forced you to upgrade? This has been discussed at length and yes I and many others completely agree that this should not occur as it is unethical and leads to exactly the issues that you are experiencing.

Are you just here to rant or would you like to learn how to do just that?
First off, you don’t need to accept everything Avast wants to install. You do know that you can go into the Control Panel - Programs and Features panel and choose Avast - Change, then select optional features to remove, right?
The three shields on the left are “the basic ones” you speak of. The stuff in the center column is a bunch of optional additions that under some conditions can add to the security of the system, and under others aren’t needed.
