Awil Software executable file?

Hello – I was hoping someone might see this and be able to explain to me why everytime I log on my Sygate Personal Firewall warns me of a “Major Threat.” A DLL file of some sort.

When I deny the request to access my computer, it attempts to access it nonetheless. Sygate warns me that my ports are being scanned. I have to manually go into my logfile and deny the exe file access. Any ideas what this is? And how I can stop it?

It happens everytime I log on and I cannot deny the application access to my ports (except manually, as stated above).

Please help. Thank you in advance. J

This is the message I get

"Application has changed since the last time you opened it, process id: 1368
Filename: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe
The change was denied by user.

---- Modules changed: 1 ----
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe
---- New modules: 0 ----"

Allow it permantly, it is a main part of Avast.

No danger than, huh. I thought it might be a false positive. Thanks. J

Indeed, no danger.
It was just your firewall trying to do its job.
If you allow the two files you mentioned in your first post, than Avast can do its job also
