We’ll have a Windows version soon, I’m not sure it won’t have been changes in Linux version also.
They could say a little more. The Linux version is very simple (or, better, it’s simpler) to be translated (compared to Windows one).

translation requires no change in the application - just create your own *.po from the avast.pot template ( = fill in spanish msgstrs).
then, the *.po file can be transformed into *.mo, and is directly usable on your machine. what is useful for us, is that spanish *.po file.
please, use UTF-8 encoding, when writing it (useful editor is for example poEdit - http://www.poedit.net/).
