We have several infections of BackDoor.IRC.Bot.132 The virus is found by AVAST! 4.8, but not removed. We use Dr.Web to remove it manually. Does anyone now where to report these problems with Avast?
Regards, Wim Glas
Why didn’t avast deal with them, e.g. what errors were displayed (file in use, etc.) ?
If you have XP, vista or Win2k (all 32bit), you could enable a boot time scan. Right click the avast icon, select Start avast! Antivirus, a memory scan will take place followed by the opening of the Simple User Interface, Menu, ‘Schedule boot-time scan…’ Or see http://www.digitalred.com/avast-boot-time.php. Don’t opt for deletion (you have no options left), always send to the chest and investigate.
Hi :
IF you had/have a “Backdoor Bot” on your computer, I doubt you got rid of ALL of “it” that easily !? Best to have your computer checked by a certified,
Volunteer “Malware Removal Specialist” found on many Advanced Malware
Removal Forums, such as the One at http://aumha.net .
Hi Guys,
thanks for the tips. I will check the boot-time scan.
Regards, Wim
you could also try a scan with MBAB and SAS and see if they detect that malware.
