Background data option has to be enabled

Question to support (or any other knowledgeable user…).

I tried to send a LOCATE message with the background data switch set to off.
I received back a ‘OK. Locate command has been handled’ (translate from French. Actual wording can differ).
but no location !
After a few minutes, I set the background data switch, and received quickly the SMS with location.

  1. can you confirm this sensibility to the /Settings/Accounts and sync/Background data/ flag ?
  2. if answer is yes, is AntiTheft able to force this flag ON as it does for GPS upon reception of a LOST cmd?
  3. if AntiTheft can not, it’s a way of making it useless… Can development correct that ?

Well, I think I was too quick jumping to the conclusion…

I did the test again, but for a longer time. Anti-theft answered despite the fact that background data was disabled…
(about 15 minutes).
