banker trojan

All of the posts about this appear to be old. I have deleted banker Trojans from my computer multiple times using both “Ad-aware” and “Spybot Search and Destroy” but they keep coming back! I have just changed my resident protection from standard to high and have deleted my Ad-aware and spybot programs and am installing SUPERSpyware Free Edition.(currently running first scan) My Avast has not detected this Trojan why not? What more can I do to permanently get rid of this invasion?

Where do I find Dr. Web? When I google it there are quite a few choices which one are you recommending?

Dr.WebCureit http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/
MBAM http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

DO I need both of these programs or just pick one?

Use Dr. WebCureit to remove the infection then MBAM to do a daily check after getting the latest definition update then a Quick scan to remove whatever it finds.

Thank you! I have done numerous scans with Avast at highest settings and SuperAntispyware and they are detecting nothing so I am not sure if my computer is already clean. Yesterday Spybot removed two banker trojan entries and while they normally come back they did not this time …but normally only 1 entry is found…so I am unsure if it is truly gone or hiding.
Will now download the new suggested programs. Is MBAM better than SuperAntispyware?

What you need to do is post the information about what spybot detected and removed as in isolation, there is no way to confirm that the detection was good or not.

Is MBAM better than SuperAntispyware?

Unfortunately I can’t do this as I didn’t save a copy of the report and have since deleted Spybot.

Always best to investigate and confirm before deletion as you could leave yourself open to problems if a false positive detection.

Now need to choose, use both as on-demand scanners (free version) or if you want resident cover (paid option) as long as only one is resident. They both have their plus points and are both in active development, so I think there is little to choose, nothing if you are going to have both as on-demand. It is only an issue if you have to choose which one if you want resident protection.

Thank you for all the help. I will check with someone next time. Guess I freaked a bit …have now run many scans and all seems to be okay.
