banking w/safezone

i dont think this can be done but,we do online banking and i got my wife to try out safezone but she is used to using the pc calculator is it possible to use it in safezone?

I rather doubt that as the whole purpose of the safezone is to isolate the safezone desktop from the live system. This prevents keyloggers, screen grabbers, etc. from getting your sensitive data and protects your system from becoming infected. The more exceptions that you have the greater the possibility of the safezone being breached.

The reverse of that is true also, if your system happened to be infected it would isolate that infection from your on-line banking, etc. when using the safezone.

Considering SafeZone is shopping/banking oriented, maybe it would be nice to include few “gadgets” on SafeZone Desktop that are designed for this kind of stuff.
Like calculator, sticky notes, to-do list etc. Not sure in what way exactly but i guess some of these could be very useful. Just not too many…

I wouldn’t include anything.
It should just be plain SafeZone.
But that’s just my opinion.

I only bank with banks that use “https”

Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is a combination of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol with the SSL/TLS protocol to provide encrypted communication and secure identification of a network web server. HTTPS connections are often used for payment transactions on the World Wide Web and for sensitive transactions in corporate information systems. HTTPS should not be confused with Secure HTTP (S-HTTP) specified in RFC 2660.

When I go to my bank’s website and after I am in it I always double check the URL to make sure that it the correct one with HTTPS etc.

Unfortunately that won’t stop keyloggers or screen grabbers capturing your keystrokes or screen display text, etc. as the https only protects the actual transmission of data.

That is one area that the safezone protects against.

i figured it wasnt possible at the moment but thought i would ask, thanks guys

One answer to do what you want when banking in the SafeZone is to press the Arrow at the bottom right of the SafeZone browser. This takes you back to the desktop where you could have the calculator or even a spreadsheet open. Then when done just click SafeZone on the Avast GUI to return to where you left off banking in the SafeZine Browser.

i agree, there a few essential utilities i need before safezone can be a viable solution for me, atm its not much use, for me at least.
