BBB Phishing Scam Malware

Has Avast Internet Security been updated to detect the malware virus that is put on the user’s computer by the BBB phishing scam. There are 2 scams out there. I am interested in the one regarding the link to the ‘Reclaimation Notice’ Also, would anyone know the name of the malware that it puts on the computer.

Thanks!

that is what antivirus companys do…24/7…as soon as they get a sample
but no security program have 100% detection, and new malware versions are released every day

the info i see on the net here, say this bug is from 2007…or do you have link to new info?

OK found a new one here.

Thanks Pondus!

As you probably thought, I got one of those emails. Being a business owner, I didn’t give it a second thought and clicked on the ‘Reclaimation Link’. It took me to a new page where Java started. But my Java crashed and couldn’t open the page so I am not sure whether or not I have the virus on my PC. I am running a full scan on my PC now. I’ve read that this malmare is very harmful and might sniff out my banking information.

I looked at the two links (thank you). It looks like the file referenced at NakedSecurity - Troj/Bredo-RK is a file that is attached to an email - so don’t think this would apply since I would have been infected through a link. I found another website that listed the files to delete in the registry - none of the files listed were in my registry.

Any advice appreciated!
