Be carefull what you believe

I know you’ve all probably heard it a million times as I have but its recently just come into perspective for me considering my old beep laptop that I had the chance to buy at the end of my school year last week for 5$ even though i would take a blood oath on that its not even worth that much, but its a old one a IBM Think pad T23 and all through the year ive been having problems with it dead hardrives and motherboards failing internal network cards and several re installations of windows many of wich I swear I had nothing to do with so today I start my laptop this morning it works fine untill just recently a few hours ago Every time I restart windows after I log on IT FREEZES and I don’t mean a freeze for a few seconds then continues normal operation I mean Dead in the water Freezes mouse wont move I cant even change my speaker volume or bring up the task manager so I completely shut it down and well theres another problem anytime I shut it down or try to re-boot or wake it up from hibernation the computer the actual system will start, but nothing will show up on the screen! it will stay off the only way to get it to start at all is to let it sit for about 10 min. I took it to the IT department when i was still in school and they swore up and down that it was “fixed” so far its not looking anything like that any clue what could be causing these problems guys? as for the freezing problem Ive stopped everything on the startup list and it still completely freezes,

I’m going to start saving up Money for a Dell Inspiron that ive wanted for ages
but until then some help or explanations would be greatly appreciated

thanks

it chould be a virus try scanning you laptop with a antivirus programme

Done it, Numerous time Avast boot-time scan with archive scanning turned on and regular scan and I have done all the online virus scanners all came back clean I have done a rootkit scan and it came back clean as well.

have you tryed doing a system restore?

I would if I had the chance But as soon as the computer would load it would freeze and If I did a sytem restore im 99.9% sure it wouldt boot up as I explain earlier, pardon me if I seem a bit testy but I am truly very very angry right now

it is ok i know how you feel lol sorry i cannot help you hope u get it sorted out

well I just got it back up again and was going for system restore and you guessed it “system death” as I have dub d it accured

Does anyone thing I should try to install win xp home or what? I can deal with the boot up issue untill I get another laptop but I cant deal with the freezing issue

reformat/re-install your windowsXP pc!
