I installed Avast yesterday, I like it, but I’m already thinking on uninstalling it because of 2 issues I already noted:
“Behavior shield” blocks .exe files without warnings\alerts even with warnings\alerts options enabled (this is a no deal for me! Any solution for this?)
“CyberCapture” sends file automatically (How to disable sending files?)
I really need this answers, otherwise, I will uninstall avast and try a new antivirus available out there! Thanks!
If you are a developer, then Behavior Shield and CyberCapture may be an issue, as files on your system would not be prevalent. You can turn Behavior Shield off in Settings.
I agree, not sure why avast cant at-least have an exclude/trusted option when a file is detected instead of repair/clean and remember it like other a/v’s do.
I installed Avast in another system of mine (a secondary and less important system) just to test it a little bit more!
I will not even bother myself in doing that because this is a known problem\bug (since 2017) that you guys from Avast didn’t fixed yet!
“Behavior shield” already prove to be a real mess! (look what it did to win10 April update!)
Some of my games lag when “Behavior shield” is activated!
and, the most unacceptable issue of “Behavior shield” is that it does not warn user about its actions! (A no no deal for me!)
I compiled a .exe file (the tool shows a gui window with random text)
uploadded the .exe file to internet
downloaded the uploaded .exe file to my computer
I executed the .exe file (windows warns me that the .exe file came from internet and that it may be dangerous to execute it)
executed the file anyway and “CyberCapture” warn box shows up!
Unchecked “Upload file to Avast Lab for deep analysis” and then I closed the warn box!
executed the file again and “CyberCapture” warns me that the file was already sent to Avast Labs (What ? Really ?)
Tested with several .exe files I compiled and the result was always the same!
And by the way, if I execute the .exe files without uploading\downloading them to\from internet, “CyberCapture” just tells me that the .exe files are secure! (Haha, this really made me Lol ! Seriously, is this a joke or what?)
Well if I ever recommend someone to use Avast in its current state, I would advise them to disable “Behavior shield” for sure and if they are concerned about Avast sending files over the internet, I would recommend them to disable “CyberCapture” too!
