Behavior Shield Blocking Program Installations

I recently upgraded Avast on a few of my PCs (free edition) and now I have found a few software packages cannot be installed unless I totally disable Avast shields.

One example is Nero 10. As it begins to install the Avast notification balloon pops up and tells me its scanning some TMP file, and then asks what to do. The problem is Nero then stops installing and reports a FAILURE. I have seen this now on a couple products, Nero being the most popular which is why I named it here. A couple games I have as well had issues with this.

I just wanted to point this out as it is quite annoying having to disable Avast to install any software. It’s a great AV program, but if this is the new norm I will have to start looking elseswhere for my AV needs as I can not be bothered to disable Avast every time I want to install something new.

based on ur description, it is not behaviour shield, but the autosandbox function. (see screenshot to confirm)

it is a norm for the current avast version. however, u can change the behaviour of autosandbox such that it will always ask for ur permission to sandbox a program (unlike ur current situation whereby it sandboxes the program and terminates it automatically after abt 10sec of analysis)

heres how to do it: avast graphic user interface → additional protection → autosandbox → settings → change ‘autosandbox mode:’ from ‘auto’ to ‘ask’
