Is there a BEST Anti Virus software out there recognized by most? One program where most people will agree is in fact the best etc etc?
Can you list for me the best Free anti-virus program & the best anti-virus program you must purchase? I seem to have an affinity in buying the best. Although, if the best is FREE that would rock too.
So does anyone know which is considered to be the one three three seven of all Anti-Virus programs?

No. This type of threads only leads to flamefests. The best AV out there is a competent human brain - oh, and avast! comes right next.

Take the source code of all major AVs, print this to paper (this will need much paper and ink)…shred the printouts…throw them in a hat…then throw the hat in a blender w/ milk, sugar, eggs, and 3 lithium-ion batteries. Drink once blended.
This will surely give you either the answer you seek…or it might turn you into the worlds best AV. Either way, the results should be interesting, please post back the results.
I do not know about the answer to this question, but I do know what av solution lots and lots of energy is being put into by all of us here, and that av solution is avast. So come and visit here often and you certainly will eventually be able to make up your mind.
Always use a combination of measures to make your computer more secure, that is one resident av solution, one two-way firewall, non-resident anti-malware solutions like for instance MBAM and/or SAS. Use security extensions inside your browser of choice, etc., update the software you run on your comp to the latest versions and definitions and you are sure good to go, and furthermore whatever you do online or offline, use your common sense,

There is only one I use, which is the only one I have found really works for me. Awesome thing about it, is that it is free, hah. It is called Avast!. I believe there is a Premium version of it, but the Home edition works perfectly fine for me. Only thing you have to do, is I believe about every 6 months or so, you have to re-register it, but, that is nothing compared to how good the program is for free.
So yeah, Google Avast and I’m sure you’ll find it pretty easily.
