I have used many antivirus programs over the years and this one is the best … I have used Norton — and all the so called big boys and avast has beaten them hands down ! Everyone I send here to DL the " I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE FREE " program has given me nothing but admiration for the link . The other boys want to suck your wallet dry with yearly files to keep them running .
I like it too ;D I have had it for a little over three years, and it is one of the most flexible, configurable AV that I have used. Best though is very subjective as that depends on your requirements, there are others that are very good but don’t match my needs/requirements and for the most part they are not free. If you are feeling flush though you can always purchase the pro version ;D

I am sure the Awil team are happy with your comments. I have used avast for about 5 years and am more than pleased with how it protects my computer.
Ive been through loads of firewalls and antispyware programs in the last 4 years, but only one antivirus was and still is good enough to keep. Avast!. Its constantly being developed, any bugs are fixed pronto and its support is superb.
Even my local computer shop recommends it and only sells Panda now, he couldn’t handle all the pcs comming in for repair that had the other big named antiviruses installed, so stopped selling them.
http://forum.spywareterminator.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=1313 has a good discussion on free AV and who’s the best, but it’s hard to get a line. Generally, I would get AVAST home as resident protection and BitDefender8 for on demand scanning. What do you say?
BD free uses a lot of resouces, and not only on demmand, always, since you boot your PC,haha.
