I’ll be quick, very quick…
I used to use AVG - Antivirus, but I recently switched to Avast! Home Edition. What a pleasant surprise ! I just can’t believe that program is so good and so effective. Best Antivirus EVER, and what’s the best thing of all, this version, Home Edition that I use is FREEE of charge… ;D
I mean, we all are lucky when we can use something for free, but I want to give my respect to complete Alwil Software crew for their hard and very successful work. My financial situation doesn’t allow me to spend so much money on PC software (I have paid for all mayor programs like OS WinXP, Office, Corel, etc.), so I try to use free versions (ZoneAlarm, Avast! Home Edition, Ad-aware 6) as much as it’s possible. I hope I’ll make enough money one day to pay for Avast! Professional Edition, 'cause it is worth of that money… oh, it is !!!
Just two questions:
1.) Where can I download some more skins ? I found some on this site, but, is there anything else out there ?
2.) Am I allowed to put your Avast! logo on my WEB site as a link for your software ?
If you need a particular program, or have a special need, then you can ask him.

Sasha, techie is right, the skins on that page are probably the only ones that exist at the moment… the reason is that we haven’t yet properly documented how to make custom skins, i.e. all of the skins are made by our “graphics guy”.
Well given the info on your website (BTW very nice design) you’re someone who would be able to author awesome skins - some people just have the talent and some don’t (like me, hehe).
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your opinion related to my Online Resume. That is actually one of my very first Web sites done in Macromedia’s Flash MX. I came to live in Canada one and a half year ago from Croatia, Europe. I used to be a GFX (graphic) guy in POLARIS, a small group of programmers. We used to make some very good intros and demos for some competitions all around Europe. Latter, we joined to Banana Design, group from Norway. Today, we all have our lifes, and we are all around the world, hehe. Those guys from my ex.group Polaris, today are very well known programmers. They made a game for PC “SERIOUS SAM”… you probably heard already about them…

Great graphics on that site, as Vlk say’s some people ‘have it’, unfortunately I’m in the same camp as Vlk… I don’t :-\ Although Vlk is probably telling fibs and actually has the talents … he knows most things, except how to answer e-mails

…maybe you’re right, although I think that talent doesn’t exist. That’s a myth to scare some people away. I think that everybody has a talent for something in itself, but 4 most important things are: work, work, work and 4th one: you have to be willing to try and always believe in yourself.
Fuel for my ideas and artworks comes every time when I read some good words from you guys who judge my work… I also appreciate when someone has to say something that is not so nice about my design… it can be very productive for me, 'cause 10 people can see better than only one, and that’s for sure… That way they can make me notice some errors and correct them…
Yeah, pretty all of my artwork is copyrighted, that’s the only way you can keep it as the author of the pieces…
That myth must have certainly scared the eebie geebies outta me Sasha I can see talent and art, but to reproduce it my-self… no way.

No way man… why do you thing you can’t have it ? I didn’t say no one can use it, I just said that pretty all of my artwork is copyrighted. Rebel Skull is my artwork, but it’s not originaly my idea… I’ve seen thousands of different versions of that skull (as stickers), and I’ve decided to draw my version…
You are free to use it as your very next tattoo. I’ll be glad to see that. I’m not some kind of copyright freak… if someone ask me nicely, I will give him (or her) my permission to use it… no problem… I just like to know where my artwork ends up.

Question for Vlk :
Is there any way I can use your Avast! Home Edition LOGO to direct visitors of my WEB site to your site… Damn, I want all people to use this wonderful product… so simple, so efficient… WONDERFUL !
And one more issue: Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t say that those few additional skins for Avast! are not good… those are wonderfull, but I just wonder if there is something else out there.

Yeah, that site for Computer Devices is little bit slower than mine… probably 'cause there are some additional Flash animations… a few more than those at my site…

ONE MORE SECURITY QUESTION for you guys:
I use Zone Alarm Free version, but it looks like it takes much more system resources than Outpost or Sygate Firewall… I have AMD Athlon XP 1700+, 384 Mb DDRAM, 40 Gb HD and I’m connected to Internet by ROGERS HIGH-SPEED CABLE INTERNET (10.0 Mbps)… very, very fast connection… What is your recomendation, which one to use ? I just want to get rid of ZA…
A lot of the guy’s on here use and like ZA and I hope they will reply. Personally, I didn’t get on with it, prefferring Outpost over anything else (just a personal thing). I did find a problem with Outpost V1 (freeware) on my system (one of the dll would cause a crash every once in a while (ftpfilt.dll if I remember correctly)). I presently trying Outpost Pro which is working fine, but unfortunately is not freeware.
Sorry, this is not a solution, just my witterings, but I’m sure someone will chip in with something more positive.
