I have been using Speccy but lately version 1.14 was released with bugs again,
and wont show up temperature for my Video Card ATI Radeon HD6650M.
Speedfan sure is nice but i dont want it since it have overclock features wich i will never use or will ever want to.
What can you recommend for windows 7? is HWMonitor good and trustworth?
Not sure what bugs are in Speccy 1.14 but I haven’t bumped into any on my XP Pro system it is reporting my graphics card temps appear correct as it is the same in System Information for Windows (SIW), though SIW doesn’t have the same graphical display as Speccy.
I used to use HWMonitor some time ago, but eventually dropped it for SIW and also have Speccy.
EDIT: This post prompted me to check for update and the standalone SIW no install version (that I use) has been discontinued.
I have no problem with Speccy on my Windows 7 system and it displays the temperatures fine.
I use SpeedFan as well but I do not use the overclocking feature.

If you are only interested in monitoring your Graphics Card, then you could also use GPU-Z from http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/. I have also found my old HWMonitor stand alone app, so I still have it.
Why use both? btw i have noticed weird behavior on hdd for speccy 1.14 on my windows 7 64bit,
after some minuts i see my laptop hdd light flashing too much, seems to make hard acess on hdd for unknown reason.
Shall try speccy again once 1.15 comes out, for now might try something else.

SpeedFan never worked in my Dell/HP notebooks. Worthless to try again.

Sounds like it also does for me now, my issue was about having Switchable Graphics (Intel HD 3000 + Radeon HD 6650M)
When i open a demanding aplication (RemoteJoyLite to play PSP on laptop screen via USB),
Speccy will show Radeon Temperature
so it means it will show after switching Graphic Intel to Radeon lol…
GPU-Z is very good but sometimes you have to run CPU-Z first to make it properly function. This is especially true if you have a new AMD APU system. HWMonitor is another good one.
The best GPU monitor iv found that requires no speedfan addin or anything else and starts up with you side bar is from addgaget.com, check out GPU Meter http://addgadget.com/ theres other usefull gadgets there too.
Speccy 1.14 works fine for me and gives temps for the CPU, Motherboard, and GPU.

The reason why I use GPU-Z or anything other than Speccy is that it can be set to show the max temp reached and not just the current one. I turn it on before a gaming session like in WoW, Skyrim, LOTRO, or whatever and after I’m done playing, I check what it says the max temp reached was. The older XP laptop used to go as high as 197ºF but this one maxes out at 148ºF or 64.4ºC with far better gaming performance. ;D

It can show both integrated intel and dedicated radeon video card temps?
lol i wonder if by seting high performance to an aplication on the graphics switch option
is realy making it use radeon or not.
So far thanks to GPU-Z i can see Radeon being activated over all aplciations i sent to high-performance
so i wonder what is realy the problem some were talking about their switchable graphics,
altough i bought in 25th December 2011, my Bios still only shows up “Integrated Graphic or Switchable”
but what maters is that it works for me,
on last note the Intel HD Graphic doesnt seem to show up its temperature on GPU-Z.
In recent years, I have been using SIW. Unfortunately, a free non-crapware stand alone is no longer available. I presently use the 2010 version.
I got the feeling that both GPU-Z and CPU-Z are the best available for compatibility and more reliable,
Speccy is ofen reading/acessing HDD on my Win7 64 bit for unknown reason lol.
