What are the best settings to use for both Firefox and Thunderbird? I have read many ideas but am confused on the correct settings.
Well really this is up to you, for firefox just make sure you have “web shield” and “network Shield” enabled, customizing them is up to you.
If you have a fast PC i would suggest puttting standard shield up to high though.
And for Thunderbird, make sure Internet mail is enabled, if you want high protection put it to high, if you want Average protection, stick it on Normal. But still customize it to your own preference.
I have not a VRDB yet....when am I suppose to do this?
The default setting are ok for most (including firefox and tbird) until you gain some more knowledge of avast! I would suggest you check out the avast help file and the Stick threads at the top of each of the forums .
Without VRDB, you won’t have the option of repairing files that are scanned by the VRDB process (exe, dll, system files etc.) the protection is limited and is no substitute for a backup strategy.
