Beta 2012 Downloaded and installed over the top of 2014.9.0.2011
For the purposes of initial test, Malwarebytes Pro realtime disabled.
Used Avast programme option to reset all settings to default.
Firefox AOS
Can’t get the green ticks, or the associated mouse over message box to appear at all. The anti tracking panel and settings are however working.
When Settings->General->Community->Participate in the avast community is unticked (and after a reboot), I would expect that the CommunityIQ option in AOS would also be unticked - it isn’t.
Having to chase individual “opt out” options should not be necessary.
For user settings for AOS options to “stick” still requires Cookies to be NOT cleaned out when Firefox is closed.
Would like to know whether the lack of green ticks is an indication that something is astray. If it is, then I will have to explore the option of uninstall, clean out, reinstall to see if the install over the top is over optimistic.
Actually, the anti tracking wasn’t working properly. No matter where I went, it showed no one was tracking me. In the AOS settings, the box for safe zone was ticked and greyed out, but I didn’t have safe zone installed, and a corner of the AOS panel was consistently missing on a particular site. See http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=144806.msg1050499#msg1050499.
The loss of the green ticks remained after a complete uninstall, cleanup (avastclear.exe, RajZor’s utility) and reinstall of 2014.9.0.2012, as did the ticked and greyed out safe zone setting, and no tracking was being shown.
Now I’m back on 2014.9.0.2011 the Web-rep ticks are back working again and the AOS panel shows I being tracked are expected, so they both appear to relate to the 2014.9.0.2012 beta.
The missing corner of the AOS panel when I’m on http://www.asx.com.au (Australian Stock Market site) also occurs in 2014.9.0.2011 so that hasn’t been introduced in this beta.
