I have installed SP2 and find that the %$$#&#& Security Centre and Avast do not seem to play well togehter. The (&&)& Security Centre reports that (Avast 4.5.536 VPS 0448-0) says it maybe out of date and naturally raises an alarm. Short of Checking the I wil monitor the AV program myself box on the recommendations page, is there any fix for this ???

Im is proberly because it is a Beta version, and microsofts security center simply doesn’t reconise the version, you could click the “I will monitor the AV program” myself box on the recommendations page untill the finnal/official version comes out if you want.

Check your system clock. It’s very likely wrong.
ps: 448-1 is the latest vps

How can I change the timeout for Security Center to warn me about updates?
Some off-line computers do not need that much the antivirus updates, for instance.
Anyway, it will be nice to take our hands over it…
