Given that the forums don’t have a specific board for posting web-related suggestions, I used this one. Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place.
Now, for my idea:
Seeing how the Beta child board is often spammed with topics from multiple beta versions of Avast!, and it is often difficult to tell which is which, and what is going on post-release, I would recommend separating this child board into further child boards. Every time a release is made, topics for that version should be shifted into a child board of the Beta one which includes the version, such as:
avast! Free/Pro/Suite
-Beta
–Released Versions
—Avast 1.x
—Avast 2.x
—Avast 3.x
—Avast 4.x
—Avast 5.x
—Avast 6.x
—Avast 7.x
—Avast 8.x
…which would get rid of the clutter. Visually, users entering the Beta board would then only see the “Released Versions” child board within it, and the topics relative to the current Beta in progress.
Doing this allows the Beta board itself to only be used for current Beta discussions. It also sorts the previous versions’ topics into the correct categories, which are easier to search through for future referencing. When a version being discussed gets released, just add another child board alongside the others and shift all those topics into there, effectively emptying out the Beta board so it’s ready for the next version in the future.
