I keep putting auto update to manual but it’s back on auto when i reboot.

I believe if you want to have a manuel update setting, change your database from ODBC to XML.

Run avast!

Go to Program menu> Click on settings> Click on TroubleShooting> Check mark “Use XML Storage instead of ODBC”

This should turn off and prevent automatic updates. If you want automatic updates, uncheck it. I hope this solves your problem.

Note: I think alwil should look upond this cause already three people (including me) has suffer from this problem.

Tried it and it didn’t work for me but then I am trying to get auto updates and it sticks on manual, but I appear to have a ghost on my machine who keeps reverting the settings spooky :

These cases call for a uninstall / boot / install / boot… :-\

Ok think I’ve fixed it

1. Change xml to ODBC
2. Select auto updates
3. Ok selection
4. Don’t touch it again
5. If for some reason you OK programme settings see 1.
