Can someone help please, my avast won’t update, it says a bin file is missing. I am not at all computer literate, what do I do? Many many thanks in anticipation.

What is the file reported as missing ?
Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
