I recently installed BitDefender 10 for an on-demand scanner, it has five services that startup with Windows, and if they aren’t all running, I can’t update or run a scan, these won’t conflict with avast! will it?
Shouldn’t conflict. When the on-demand component (bdlite.exe) isn’t running, they’re scanning for updates, not malware.
I just noticed that in the Windows Security Center on XP, under the Virus section, it now says, BitDefender, not avast!, how do I get avast! back on there instead?
Uninstall BitDefender 10.
I use ESET’s online scanner (NOD32) & BitDefender Online scanner, they always confirm avast! does an excellent job!
There is no other way to get avast! in the Security Center?
Security Center will only show one anti virus program at one time.
I just noticed that in the Security Center, it says that there are multiple AVs detected, and, for example, if I disable avast!, it says that BitDefender 10 free is on. Anyone know a way to get the Security Center to not detect BitDefender?
Uninstall it.
Hi Go Pack Go, I could never get BD10 free to work properly on XP (five months ago HERE), with or without Avast. I think it’s just a glitchy program. Dump it, and make sure you run the uninstaller tool. DrWeb Cureit and online scans are good backups to Avast.
Bitdefender online scanner installs an active x component which is a security risk ( http://derstandard.at/?url=/?id=3119925 )
When i installed Bitdefender the windows security center says: “There are more than one virus programs found.” But bitdefender doesn’t work fine, it crashes sometimes. I removed it
