Blacklisted License

Dear All,

I want to Know how ALWIL company knows that one license is distributed over more than one computer, and then the license is blacklisted. Please provide me technically…

Thanks in advane . . .

Not 100% sure, but i think they use the hard disk serial Nr.

[font=Segoe UI] Not sure either, but I do think that it was analyzed everytime avast connects to the server to update.

I somehow doubt they would tell you how they would determine that as it would allow people to try to seek a way round it.

You also don’t say what type of license key, but I will guess the Pro paid option and it is one license per system it is installed on.

If it is for the Home license and your use on them complies with the Home and non-commercial/business use (includes non-profit or charity, etc.) and both apply. Then the same key can be used on qualifying systems used in the same Home for non-commercial/business use.

True…when I came across this question before, I couldn’t come up with any decent motive for the question with my brains.

I have 18 computers, I have an email. What will happen?

18 computers with what on it avast Home or Pro ?
What use all 18 for they have to comply for Home and non-commercial use as stated earlier, if you had the Home version.

Or you would need 18 Pro licenses if used for business/commercial use.

18 computers in internet cafe

I have to assume that installation in a cafe would be considered commercial use and require the appropriate multiple licenses.

As L’ arc suggested, the license is checked during updating.
So, it’s not that hard to find out that the license is used on more computers that it’s meant to be, for example…
