Is there a way to turn off the check for blank email subjects triggering a suspected virus warning?
Also, I think it is incorrect design and dangerous to have the default button delete the email permanently. It is very easy to accidently hit the enter key and lose an important message.
Internet Mail, Customize…, Heuristics Tab, set to Custom, select Heuristics Advanced and uncheck ‘Check subject’
You could also lower the sensitivity which may do the same.
My personal thoughts would be that allowing a possibly infected email through is more dangerous than accidentally deleting an email incorrectly identified as suspicious. You can always get the email sent again, assuming you/they didn’t just click delete without reading any information about the suspect email.
I have the case of avast reporting the suspicious Email regarding the message subject.
The irony was that incoming mail was from PandaLabs and their bulletin “Oxygen3 24h-365d”. Alert was due to suspicious white space sequence.
Well this was false alarm indeed, but I’m just posting to inform the rest of the users about this suspicious subjects.
