I’ve no idea whether these glitches affect avast free, but they have been present on all versions of AIS since version 10 was introduced. Initial symptoms are that the feature programs run (see below) run shortly after user log on, but stop working some unknown time later (30 minutes?).
Png’s attached below show non-functional windows and running ones after logging user off and then logging back on.
Repair of AIS already done in admin user; no change in behavior.
As these are feature programs, they are not essential to core protection programs, but still, everything should work from the get-go and continue to work after user has been logged on for some time.
For example, Statistics window does not update in real-time as it did in version 9, and it stopped doing so in version 10. To see the latest statistics it is necessary to close the current window and hope a new refreshed one will appear; this does not happen once the feature program stops running properly after an unknown amount of time.
Discovered issues described above in my topic will occur only when an instance of Sandboxie is invoked. If Sandboxie is not run, then Statistics, Home Network Security, etc., always work and never come up with a blank window.
Once Sandboxie is run, then blank windows will appear. Defect appears immediately and is reproducible. To view, it is necessary to invoke a new instance of that program.
