blank user interface window

Avast Free Antivirus / Premium Security

I had a blocked intrusion message from Avast (free) and when I’ve gone to open the User Interface window to check the details and run scans the window comes up but is blank - no content showing.

What is going on, and how do i fix it?

First reboot.

If that doesn’t resolve it:
Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

You may need to reboot after the repair.

What happens if you close the window and try to run avastUI.exe again?
