Bloatware

why is avast trying to install bloat at every program update? I have a pro License and after the update of the program and the reboot, a avast popup showed, that wanted me to finish the installation inkluding the installation of dropbox. One of the last updates had something similar with google chrome and google toolbar.
The reputation of avast is dropping, if the software always tries to install bloatware for earning some extra money.
Plaese stop this shit!

There is no possibility to answer to your post, therefor i edit the original post i posted.
My description is maybe a bit unclear, so i try to precicize it.
After a program update of avast you are asked to reboot for finish of installation. After the reboot a avast-Window appears with the title “Finish the Installation” and inside this Window there is a checked ckeckbox “Install dropbox” and a “Finish”-Button.
At first Dropbox is no avast Product (also either chrome or chrome toolbar was), at second there is for sure no security improvement by installing dropbox (or chrome with google toolbar).

Although we think the other products add value to our security solution, we understand you don’t want to see these offers. Please, in the appearance settings of avast!, disable the popups of new products.

I don’t think this option affects the popup he is mentioning. This option will only affect ads displayed with VPS udpate popups. As far as i know it will NOT do anything to program upgrades popup. I too think it’s unnecessary and really deeply annoying. Every single system i’ve installed avast! to in the past now has Chrome and Dropbox installed even though users had Firefox as their primary browser and they never ever used or needed Dropbox. But it’s there because avast! pre-checks those options and users just confirm it because non tech savvy people simply don’t understand this sort of stuff.
