Blocked incoming emails

Hi all

I’ve just installed avasti! and the first problem I find I’m unable to download emails. I can send OK, but not receive. I’m using WinMail and getting this type of error message:-

Account: ‘xxxx@xxxx.co.uk’, Server: ‘mail.xxxx.co.uk’, Protocol: POP3, Server Response: ‘-ERR Cannot connect to POP server 212.159.8.234 (212.159.8.234:995), connect error 10060’, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

Any ideas anyone ? :-\

Well there is an attempt to connect to port 995 (secure SSL POP3 port), which is a secure port, yet the error is saying that Secure(SSL): = No, so there is certainly some confusion here.

What is your ISP and do they require you to connect securely ?

I was just about to start checking the settings when my emails suddenly downloaded so I suspect there was a fault at the ISP server. I have an open ticket with them so I’ll leave it to see what they have to say. ::slight_smile:
